Once you have successfully completed your DTS, we want to help propel you into whatever season, occupation, or sphere of society the Lord is calling you into.
If you feel God is leading you to continue growing as a missionary, we have further training and ministries to look into to fit your passions, gifts and skill sets. We want to help grow those passions, as well as fostering leadership skills and creating an environment to help expand your capacity as a leader and missionary.

It may be advantageous to apply for further training at the same time as your DTS as there can be considerable benefits and cost savings to your Visa applications.
Ministry Development Internship (MDI)
This two year course offers a solid foundation for further growth and practical missions training as you serve in ministry at YWAM Tasmania. Each quarter we look at different topics related to serving in missions, including evangelism, Bible study, working in teams, communication, support raising and more. Weekly classes, projects, personal study and group discussion are designed to help you pursue the call of God on your life. This essential training is grounded in our YWAM Foundational Values.

Tuition Fee: AUD $400 per quarter
Non-tuition Fee: AUD $1500 per quarter

Ministry Component
During your time on our MDI, you will have a chance to serve in different roles such as staffing a DTS, serving in our local ministries and even spearhead a new ministry opportunity.
Serving in ministry is both challenging and rewarding which leads to deep growth in your personal walk with God.
Class Component
Practical topics that are covered in the MDI includes: Evangelism, Finances and budgeting, Biblical Worldview, Living like Jesus, etc… Each term, you will have a new topic and many different practical tools for you to thrive in life and be effective in ministry.
Ministry Leadership Internship (MLI)
This two-year course is an extended practical mentoring experience for potential and current leaders, and includes classroom lectures, small group and team leadership, one-on-one sessions with leaders, and organisational training. The course is intended to provide participants with a broad range of knowledge and skills associated with leadership roles in Christian Missions. The outcome is the potential for graduates to work alongside or pioneer a new ministry, applying what was learned during the course, with support from experienced leaders. School Details

Ministry Component
During your time on our MLI, you will have a chance to serve in different YWAM leadership roles such as staffing or leading a DTS, leading in our local ministries and even spearheading a new ministry opportunity, with a particular focus on increasing spiritual leadership capacity.
Class Component
The modules of the MLI build on previous YWAM training. The topics covered are practical and relevant to missions, including: Leadership in a missions context, Understanding emotional health, Building missions teams, Developing ministry skills and partnerships, and Practical Discipleship. Each term, you will have a new topic and many different practical tools for you to thrive in leadership and be effective in ministry.
