Our Campus

Sorell, Tasmania

In February of 1985, a small team arrived from YWAM Canberra to pioneer a YWAM centre in Hobart. For the first few months, the centre operated out of a caravan in the local caravan park until a suitable house in the city was found. Almost every night they would walk the streets and reach out to local young streetwise people by providing a city café within a bus, called ‘The Ark’.

In 1988, YWAM Tasmania moved to the property where we are still located today: 200 acres of farmland situated on a ridge overlooking the township of Sorell and the sea. Originally, there were three farmhouses on the property. Today, there are four houses, with more accommodation and additional buildings planned.

We are a family of ministries. God is amazing in how He brings a variety of people, teams, cultures and languages together at one place. We call this place home and those people our family. We are blessed to have many generations and a number of cultures in our home.
