Water For Life & Platypus Go-Teams

YWAM Tasmania Is dedicated to provide access to safe water, sanitation and the necessary low-cost technology to those in need, forming an essential first step in overcoming poverty and improving quality of life for the world’s poorest people.

Did you know that over half the hospital beds in the world are filled with people suffering from water and sanitation related diseases?

More than one billion people do not have access to safe drinking water essential for survival and decent quality of life. More than  2 billion people lack adequate sanitation. Consequently some 3.4 million people, mostly children, die from diseases associated with inadequate water supply, sanitation and hygiene.

Access to safe water is the first step in overcoming poverty. Providing improved sanitation facilities is a liberating development especially for women and girls and is providing substantial benefits for for the whole community.

Did you know that each year  more than 200 million tonnes of human waste - plus vast quantities  of waste water and solid waste - go uncollected and untreated around the world, infecting the environment and exposing millions of people to deadly diseases. - Do we have faith to move this mountain?

We are training and sending GO-Teams consisting of young enthusiastic people from all over the world and volunteers from every sphere of society who freely give their time, talents and expertise to benefit the most needy in the world. We also send ‘Platypus Teams” to serve poor communities through teaching and implementing Water Technologies .We conduct several Water for Life Seminars during the year, 2-3 weeks of practical hands-on training  followed by a short term mission trip to a community where the participants can implement and pass on what they have learned. (These seminars are held in partnership with “Water For Life” a ministry of YWAM International)

Kerygma Teams  is a branch of the inter confessional lay-missionary organisation Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Kerygma Teams supports Catholic parishes, renewal movements, and groups active in evangelisation, mercy ministries, and training in the Catholic Church. In addition, Kerygma Teams offers opportunities for Christians to become involved in short and long-term cross cultural missions projects.

“Ke-ryg-ma”, a Greek word meaning the proclamation of salvation through Jesus Christ. Find out more about Kerygma Teams international here
